Description

On my walks along the C&O Canal, this was a first. I was descending the trail and heard music and lo and behold, three people were playing bluegrass under a tree in front of Lockhouse 8 - one of the remaining and relatively intact "homes" in which the lockkeepers lived when the towpath was in full operation. The lockhouse alone is over 100 years old. The music was such a lovely and rare addition to the scene and a gift to the visitors at the Park.
